European Cruise Lines Review - Regent Seven Seas (Radisson)

If you value luxury, delicious cuisine, and exemplary service then Radisson (now Regent Seven Seas) may very well be the European cruise line that will deliver the vacation experience you expect.

Regent Seven Seas is actually the result of a merger between two cruise lines (Radisson and Seven Seas Cruises), and the best of both companies has been carried forward to make Regent Seven Seas one of the premier luxury cruise lines operating today.

In recent years the emphasis has been on state of the art technology and guest comfort, and flat screen TVs, iPod music systems with Bose speakers, integrated WiFi, and even at sea cell phone service are available on Regent’s fleet of ships.

Speaking of their fleet of ships, Regent’s most recent additions can be more accurately referred to as floating luxury resorts. Seven Seas Voyager, Navigator and Mariner are all similar in style, but contain enough subtle differences to make a cruise aboard one a different experience from the others.

As I mentioned above Regent Seven Seas places a premium on service, and they have followed through on their dedication to providing stellar service by having not only one of the highest staff to passenger, but also one of the highest space to guest, ratios of any cruise line in operation. If you don’t like lineups, waiting, and fighting crowds (and who does?) then this fact alone might sway you to choose Regent.

Amenities and features include an internet center aboard every ship, complimentary alcoholic beverages (a rarity in this day and age), singing waiters at dinner, and butler service for high end suites. All gratuities are included in your fare, so you needn’t worry about the added expense of constantly tipping.

Regent’s European cruise itineraries include sailings on the Mediterranean, exploration of the British Isles, and last, but certainly not least, their famous “top of the world” voyages to Scandinavia and Iceland. If you want luxury, service and comfort with just a pinch of adventure thrown in then Regent Seven Seas should be on your short list when choosing a cruise line.
