Finding A Cheap European Cruise
Okay, a European cruise is not “cheap”, but I am speaking in relative terms here. In these trying economic times finding the best bang for our buck, even when considering a luxury cruise, is simply being fiscally responsible. There is no reason to pay more than we have to, after all.
However, you also have to be realistic about your vacation expectations. If you want to be pampered and feel like you are visiting royalty then you aren’t likely to find a discount European cruise that will cater to the level of service you expect.
The first thing you need to do is determine your vacation budget. Once you’ve narrowed down the range of the amount you want to spend on a cruise then finding a cruise line that fits in with your budget and your ideal itinerary becomes much simpler.
Being flexible with your destination choices makes the task even easier. Perhaps your ideal cruise would be in the Eastern Mediterranean visiting Greece and Turkey. However, perhaps a Scandinavian or Baltic cruise would be more economical. Do some research and compare what different cruise lines are choosing. You may find a fantastic deal just by considering other options.
How flexible is your travel schedule? Cheap European cruises can often be found late in the season, so if you are willing to wait you can often save hundreds or even thousands of dollars off the prices in peak cruise season.
The most important thing to remember is not to compromise too much just to save a few dollars. Any European cruise is still going to be relatively expensive, so you want to make sure that the choice you make will still deliver a high quality fun vacation that you will remember for a lifetime.
