Northern European Cruises

Though you will be exploring the same continent a Northern European cruise is radically different from cruising Southern Europe. Exploring the rugged regions of the North Sea, the Baltic or the Atlantic ocean bears little similarity to the sunny pleasure cruises you’ll find in the Mediterranean. A voyage in this region offers just as much in the way of art, history and culture, along with a rugged, majestic wilderness you won’t find in the south. Explore quaint hamlets, small fishing villages and ancient cities in countries like England, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and even Russia.

As with cruises in Europe’s southern region itineraries are wide-ranging, lasting as little as 3 days for a quick sightseeing tour of the British Isles to a month long voyage from London to Copenhagen aboard one of Crystal Cruise Lines finest luxury yachts. For something a little different take a voyage on the Volga River. See the magnificent churches of St. Petersburg in Russia aboard the MS Litvinov on a Northern European river cruise. Want to see castles? Germany’s Rhine River is rife with them, and the Castles on the Rhine tour is one of the region’s most popular. Feeling really adventurous? Take a Norwegian fjords cruise aboard one of Norway’s famous Hurtigruten ships. See magnificent waterfalls, massive glaciers and miles of unspoiled wilderness as you navigate Norway’s fjords.

Again, wine tasters will be in their glory exploring the region, and there are plenty of cruise lines that cater specifically to wine lovers and offer shore excursions to visit some of the region’s most famous vineyards and wineries. Some of the shore excursions offered are exclusive and not available to the general public traveling on land - just another perk a cruise vacation has to offer.

As you can see a Northern European cruise is not about pure relaxation. If you adventure and activity on your vacation I strongly recommend a voyage in this beautiful region of the continent.
