Which Are The Best European Cruises?

You could ask a thousand different people and get a thousand different answers on what makes the best European cruise. Everyone has their own idea of what constitutes an amazing cruise vacation. Some like to be pampered, and hardly lift a finger beyond sipping their wine and nibbling on another delicacy. At the opposite end of the spectrum you’ll find the adventure travelers, who are almost quivering in anticipation as the ship pulls in to port, anxious to get started on whatever shore excursion they’ve booked. The majority of cruise passengers are somewhere in between, and each has their own likes and dislikes.

As you can see trying to choose the best European cruises is a difficult exercise, and that’s without even taking into account all the different ports of call that one can visit on this incredible continent. You can cruise the Eastern Mediterranean and see the Greek Islands, Croatia, Turkey or Eastern Italy. The Western Mediterranean offers travelers the delights of Spain, France, Portugal and Maltic. A Baltic Sea cruise is an entirely different experience, and you can experience the ancient culture of Northern European destinations like Norway, Sweden, Russia, and Finland. Want a different adventure? How about a European river cruise? Take a river boat tour down the Danube, the Rhine, the Elbe, Seine, Po or Saone, and see quaint villages and magnificent castles that those on the larger sea vessels don’t get to see.

Assuming you can narrow those choices down to a best option there is also the question of which cruise line to select. There are dozens of luxury cruise lines operating in Europe. Crystal Cruises, Cunard, Carnival, Holland America, Viking, Uniworld and Disney are but a sampling of the travel companies you can choose from. Each company offers different itineraries, amenities, luxury and entertainment.

Ultimately it will be you and no other who will determine the best European cruise. Luckily with so many options to choose from there is a very good chance that you will be able to find the voyage that most perfectly matches your idea of what characterizes a fantastic vacation. Don’t worry, if you don’t quite get it right the first time I promise you’ll want to go back again and again until you do.
